WIMPY CHARITABLE TRUST

GIVING IS BETTER THAN RECEIVING

At Wimpy we feel a very strong obligation to give something back to the people of South Africa. We have been one of the country's major brands for over three decades, and with over 400 restaurants nationwide, Wimpy has become a leading figure in the local economy. As such, we have an important role to play when it comes to the social issues that face South Africa. Throughout the years we have been involved in many different projects in the community. In 1999 Wimpy raised R250 000 for the Star Seaside Fund, and so the Wimpy Charitable Trust was established. This Trust mainly focuses on children in need. The aim is to raise funds and donate meals to charities across South Africa. Various activities are organized to raise funds, and The Wimpy Charitable Trust has already helped hundreds of underprivileged children to experience moments of joy and togetherness. We hope to build on this tradition in the future, and give many more needy children the chance of a better life.

IN THE SPIRIT OF UPLIFTMENT

The spirit of the Trust is one of caring self-sufficiency. We would like to eventually uplift people and organisations, to put them in a position where they can sustain themselves. In doing so, the Wimpy Charitable Trust hopes to make South Africa a better place to live for all. Through the Wimpy Charitable Trust, Wimpy aims to assist those organizations that are performing crucial work in South African communities. The scope of the Trust is broad, and all applications for assistance will be dealt with on merit. Organizations approaching the Trust will need to meet certain criteria in order to qualify for assistance.
